HypnoBirthing® is not just about utilizing Self-Hypnosis and Relaxation to experience a calm, more comfortable birthing - it is a comprehensive Childbirth Education Program.

Also covered in classes are how to prepare your body physically for the job of carrying your baby to full term. We discuss proper nutrition, which cannot begin early enough when you discover that you are expecting. Protein consumption is key to your baby's health and proper development - did you know that you need 75-90 grams of protein daily in your diet while pregnant? Many American's don't even get 25 grams of protein into their daily diet-and those who do often aren't able to digest it well. Digestive enzymes specifically designed to help the body break down protein can help you assimilate this most important building block for baby's best overall development. We will also talk about the importance of vitamins and minerals such as calcium, iron and folic acid, as well as how to avoid the empty calories that feed neither you nor your baby. Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables supply essential vitamins and minerals that are the easiest for your body to accept-when we discuss taking supplements, we mean just that - supplement your diet with them, don't expect that this will be the way your body will be supplied with them. Keep in mind as well, that most vitamin and mineral supplements are difficult to digest at best-utilizing a "bio-available" type of supplement and taking enzymes with them will offer the best results.

A healthy intake of fiber comes from the fruit and vegetable you consume as well as hearty, high fiber carbohydrates. If you don't exercise regularly, talk with your care provider about smart choices that you can begin to incorporate into your daily life. Most doctors and midwives recommend walking at a comfortable rate of speed. Many as well suggest pre-natal yoga or Tai Chi as easy, slow moving exercises that enhance your spirit as well as your body.
